Werrington Parish Church

We seek to be a welcoming, vibrant and loving Church community for all where we can grow as the family of God to love, serve, share and be like Jesus wherever we are each day.

Our five strategic areas of focus are:
Children and Young People
Discipleship
Evangelism, Community & Outreach
Prayer
Worship

Like all other churches, COVID-19 had an enormous impact on church life in our parish and many aspects of our lives may never be the same again. However, we are blessed in our community with a large number of committed Christians who responded to the crisis:

  • A pastoral hub was quickly set up to support, both practically and spiritually, vulnerable people in our church and later on other people in Werrington, identified by Peterborough City Council; this support is still available today
  • Online Services are now part of our Church life and we continue with the traditional Holy Communion, Children’s Ministry, Messy Church, Connect (a Fresh Expressions service) Taizé, online Compline and a range of other services
  • Discipleship groups (small/home groups) meet regularly; members continue to support each other and learn together using various study resources (which link in with the sermon series and with being Christ-like on our frontlines)
Although we are in a new phase of Church life, we still focus on making and nurturing disciples!
