In February 2019 the lease on the plot of land known as Werrington Village Centre came to an end and Peterborough City Council returned the upkeep to Werrington Parish Church. The middle building on this site (now known as The Beacon) needs extensive renovation and funds to make it safe and useable. In this respect there has been a Steering Group meeting regularly to turn the vision into reality.
We are looking to transform The Beacon into a flexible, welcoming space capable of hosting a wide range of wellbeing, pastoral and community activities. The project will aim to provide areas for group activities, smaller rooms for confidential one-to-one support, accessible facilities and a kitchen suitable for community meals and cookery groups.
